By introducing and maintaining an inert gas (nitrogen) to a near-tight environment, stored parts are not subjected to damage caused by oxidation or particulate contamination. Many sizes and custom configurations are available. Other materials include amber acrylic, clear PVC, anti-static acylic, and solid white polypropylene.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Auto Desiccator Cabinet, Vertical 120 VAC
Made from clear methyl-methacrylate (acrylic), this auto-desiccator cabinet features a permanent desiccant contained in the control unit so no desiccant tray is needed. The cycle is indicated by a green light for a 4 1/2 hours absorption period, or a red light indicating 1/2 hour regeneration of the desiccant. This cabinet will lower relative humidity to 30 - 40% and it includes two adjustable shelves. The unit draws 6 watts, 120 VAC. Vertical layout.
